The American Yo-Yo Association Newsletter of September 1997 includes an article stating that the yo-yo most likely originated in China

Certainly Yo-Yo's have been made in China for many thousands of years, even before the dawn of written history

Perhaps the the Yo-Yo traveled across the Silk Route into Europe, and perhaps over the Himalayas into southern and western Asia, and along the sea routes through the Middle East and into ancient Rome

For sure, the Yo-Yo has been enjoyed at playtime over the millennia.  It has also assumed important significance in rituals across many continents

Now in the Year 2000, we have gone back to the ancient home of the Yo Yo to produce our Yo Yo that actually catches a little of the sun for you!
